The Baltic energy system operators intend to notify Russia and Belarus that they will not renew the BRELL agreement and will withdraw from it in February 2025.
“Today, operators in the Baltic countries signed a document officially informing the parties to the BRELL agreement about their decision not to renew the agreement. In February – joint testing by the Baltic countries of isolated operation and disconnection,” said Lithuanian Energy Minister Dainius Kreivis.
According to BNS, a letter of non-renewal of the contract with BRELL is due to be sent to Russia and Belarus on Tuesday.
