Nordzucker has withheld the decision to start the construction of a processing plant processing project on the land of the closed dairy in Groß Munzel in Lower Saxony – reports Agrarheute. The company has not withdrawn from this project, but is suspending it because of unfavorable concerns – reads. Information this has caused disappointment for many county farmers, who have already decided to crop aggregate for their processing needs.
Farmers had contracts with Nordzucker
The carbon stone for construction was laid not far as in November ub.year. The processing plant was to produce protein – primarily from peas – for producers of vegan food, as and for feed purposes. The investment was to cost over 100 million euros, and target the plant was to employ about 60 people. The problem in that the farmers already had been encouraged to start or increase the crop with the thought of supplying to the processing plant. Many of these have also decided to contracts with Nordzucker.
Now the company assures that it will fulfill its obligations to farmers, but for investment in the factory it “took a brake.” As Agrarheute notes, the market situation does encourage the building and production of protein, because through import from Asia prices are low, and supply large. Alexander Godow, director of operations Nordzucker says, that the company is recently analyzing the project under the new economic situation.
Farmers, as we read, were approaching the
earlier announcements Nordzuker on the question of purchasing grass very enthusiastically – changed the rotation, they buy for stock seeds, they
planned larger areas for cultivation. They have therefore now resent to company.
