The deal to lease MTS 10.1 thousand square meters fell through. m in the Silver City business center, located in the center of Moscow. Back in May, the owner of the business center O1 Properties announced the impending signing of a major contract with MTS.

MTS wanted to consolidate its entire team in one office building – now the company’s employees are dispersed across different business centers in Moscow. However, it was not possible to come to an agreement with the operator of Silver City, which occupies space near the Paveletsky railway station.

A possible reason for the failure of the deal is MTS’s internal requirements for finishing and adapting premises to its own needs, which did not suit O1 Properties. According to one of the publication’s sources, MTS, according to internal rules, cannot invest in leased facilities, but only in its own premises. It turns out that the owner of O1 Properties was asked to undertake the renovation of part of the premises, which was refused.

The vacancy rate in the Moscow office market fell to 5.1% in June – this is the minimum value in the last 16 years. Finding a new office for all MTS employees will be quite difficult, experts say.
