Next year, the Ministry of Climate Change will allocate 2.25 million euros to the Eesti Raudtee railway company to make the platforms at Lehtse and Jäneda stations more comfortable and safe for passengers.
The work will include the reconstruction of both passenger platforms at Lehtse station and the construction of a level crossing. One of the platforms at Jäneda station will also be adapted for higher speed trains. For example, safety zones on reconstructed platforms will be increased to 1.5 meters instead of half a meter. The new aprons will also feature more weather-resistant pavilions with walls.
Modernization work will be financed from funds received from the sale of greenhouse gas emission quotas.
