Forecasts for the weaners market

Jakub Dorożyński, sales specialist at PH Konrad, does not forecast official price increases on the Danish stock exchange, but does not rule out price corrections for weaners.

– There is a noticeable increase in purchase interest on the weaners market. Free market prices are tending to equalize contract prices. However, I do not predict official increases on the exchange, because weaners are still easily available, so there is no basis for raising exchange prices. On the other hand, free market prices, which are formed outside the exchange, are currently rising and may continue to do so. It should also be remembered that we have underestimated prices for contract weaners. We do not sell them at prices resulting from the exchange, (…), we were forced to introduce lower prices, because the free market was so low that we were not able to sell them at a higher price. Therefore, the current trend of raising prices for free market weaners may also cause us to start raising prices for contract weaners to the level resulting from the exchange, and not from market pressure. However, it is difficult to say how long this may last. (…). For now, the trend on the weaners market is slightly upwards – says Dorożyński.
