PIGP: Some warehouses flooded, customers from flood areas asked to be patient
Loss estimation begins
On Monday there was a meeting with the veterinary and phytosanitary inspections, with representatives of the KOWR, the Restructuring Agency, agricultural advisory centers, so everyone interested. Currently, our deputy ministers are in the field and together with the services they are assessing the situation and the level of damage – says Czesław Siekierski, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, in an interview with the Farmer editorial office.
As the minister emphasises, the estimation of losses is only just beginning, but it is already known that both cereals and fodder flooded by flood waters are unsuitable for feeding.
There is a clear message that all products and bulk feed, concentrated feed, grain, anything else, if they have been touched or had contact with flood water, are not suitable for consumption – says the head of the Ministry of Agriculture in an interview with Farmer.
– There will be help in organizing this feed for breeding needs, in supply. All production centers of the National Support Center for Agriculture are launched, there is an order and it will be transferred. KOWR centers are organized, efficient and bulk and concentrated feed, and seed material, so all this is launched – he adds.

Kołodziejczak: No one will lose out on flooded agricultural produce
It will certainly not be possible to cover all the losses.
As informed by the Minister, the regional KOWR centres cooperate on site with both the local government and the agricultural government.
Farmers collect fodder and seed material, and the cost of transport is covered by the National Council of Agricultural Chambers, Siekierski said in an interview with Farmer.
The Minister emphasises that state services will need support, but organised support.
It will be necessary to help with the disposal of feed and other things – the head of the Ministry of Agriculture says in an interview with the editorial office. – Equipment from KOWR is also being sent.
Siekierski emphasizes that this equipment is donated by KOWR, not just loaned.
Estimation of losses has begun. Only then will we be able to say what kind of help we need. We have money in the ministry, the national budget will certainly contribute to it. Farmers cannot be left to their own devices, although we know that we will certainly not cover all the losses – Siekierski sums up.
