The non-alcoholic trend is shaking up the market. Mex Polska has the answer
Mex Polska, a holding company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, expects to achieve over PLN 49 million in consolidated sales revenues at the end of the first half of the year, which means an increase of over 10% year-on-year. Operating profit (EBIT) is to remain at a stable level of almost PLN 2.5 million. The Group's net profit is to amount to approximately PLN 1.3 million, but its amount was largely negatively affected by the application of IFRS16. Without taking into account this factor, the net profit would amount to PLN 1.9 million and would increase by over 22% compared to 2023. The Company recently opened three new premises in Pasaż Bielaka in Kraków, and this is not the end of the portfolio expansion for this year. By the end of this year, it is planned to launch at least 3 new own premises, including in Kraków and Katowice. In connection with the ambitious assumptions, the Management Board is working on updating the development plans, the details of which are to be presented soon.
– The first half of the year was very intensive and full of development for us, which translated into an increase in revenues and stabilization of operating profits. Despite the negative impact of new large lease agreements and IFRS16, our financial results confirm that the Group is still earning and developing according to plan. After cleansing from IFRS 16, net profit and EBIT would actually increase by about a solid 20 percent. Our goal is to maintain this pace, we are currently working on updating the key assumptions of the development plans, the details of which we will present to our Shareholders soon – informs Dariusz Kowalik, Member of the Management Board and Financial Director of Mex Polska.
Mex Polska develops its business through the parallel development of several independent and profitable gastronomic concepts. The group's newest brand is the Mexican street food Spoko Taco, whose first outlet is located in the iconic Pasaż Bielaka.
This is not the end of openings for this year. By the end of this year, at least three new own premises are planned to open: two in Katowice and one more in Kraków – in the aforementioned Pasaż Bielaka. The group states that it already has a total of 3 premises in this location as part of 3 different concepts, but it is not afraid of cannibalizing demand, based on the potential of the prestigious location and the known consumer profile.
The Mex Polska Capital Group consists of several dozen companies linked organizationally and by capital. The group manages 50 catering establishments. The development of the catering chain comes from own funds, loans and financial resources from franchisees under franchise agreements. Since 2012, the company has been listed on the Main Market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
