MegaMarket analysts analyzed consumer demand and determined how Russians preserve memories from summer travels.

It turned out that analog methods are still in trend — photo albums are at the top of popularity for storing photos. Demand for them remains all summer: both during the holiday season and after it. At the same time, young people have switched to film photos, and the most unusual way to store memories from vacation is to order paintings by numbers from your own shots.
The trend for personalized paint-by-numbers started in 2020, and since then such souvenirs have only become more popular. Over the past year, the sales volume of such products on MegaMarket has doubled, and this summer, demand for them has increased by 180% compared to the same period last year.
Such goods are most often of interest after the holidays: in August-September, demand is 79% higher than in May-June. They are also ordered after photo sessions and as gifts: for New Year, February 23, March 8 – according to the study, during the holidays, interest in paintings by numbers increases 2-3 times. The average cost of a painting is about 600-900 rubles. The most frequent buyers are people aged 25-34.
Photo frames are usually bought before the holidays: in May-June, interest is 75% higher. This storage method is popular with millennials (35-44 years old). In addition to traditional photo frames, people are interested in digital ones, and people aged 25-34 mainly store digital photos. The peak sales of digital photo frames fall in August-September.
As for taking photos, the trend for using analog cameras is returning, especially among young people. Demand for film cameras before the holiday season is 79% higher than after. Interest in instant cameras and cartridges is also growing: in June 2024, it increased by 1.5 times compared to the same period in 2023. Polaroids are still in fashion – they are most often bought by people aged 25-34.
