– At McDonald's, we have been working for years to reduce the amount of unused packaging. Thanks to our cooperation with the recycler, Miklan-Ryza from Toruń, we are giving our paper packaging a second life. After processing, they are returned to the restaurant in the form of, among others, paper towels. However, we see that the needs of some of our guests are changing. We meet their needs by offering not only the "I have my own cup" option, but also by introducing additional proposals, such as the YourCup reusable cup – says Katarzyna Kucisz-Rosłoń, Impact Senior Manager at McDonald's Polska.
Guests can bring their own cup and order their favorite drink in it. Those who do not have their own cup can buy a selected variant of the YourCup reusable cup in the restaurant and then use it on subsequent visits to the chain's restaurants thanks to the "I have my cup" option.
McDonald's Polska began operations in 1992, opening its first restaurant in Warsaw. Currently, there are over 550 chain restaurants in Poland, employing over 33,000 people. Over 90% of them are facilities run by 100 entrepreneurs based on a franchise agreement with McDonald's.
