The entry of Russian retail chains into the Belarusian market does not pose any risks for Belarusian retailers. This assessment of the situation was expressed to Office Life by the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Alexey Bogdanov during the XXI Assembly of Business Circles.
The head of the department said that the Belarusian market is open to all business entities in any country in the world. The main thing is that all players comply with the requirements of Belarusian legislation.

Since the beginning of this year, two large Russian networks, Letual and DNS, have already entered the Belarusian market. In June , the first store of the Podruzhka chain will open, which is a competitor to Island of Purity and Taste and Mila. These Belarusian operators today are experiencing certain difficulties in their development. Competitors in this segment include fixed price stores: the Belarusian network “Three Prices” and the Russian FIX Price.

In the “Products for Children” segment, only the Russian chain “Detmir” remained. Belarusian Buslik has closed.
According to Belretail.by, about 10 Russian retail brands will enter the Belarusian retail market this year.
Partner and executive director of NAI Belarus Andrey Aleshkin , commenting on this trend , said that some Belarusian companies may not be able to withstand the competition. This is not very good from the market point of view and from the consumer point of view.
