American company Mars buys Pringles potato chip maker and Kellogg 's breakfast cereal – Kellanova company – By at a price of $83.5 per share. The total amount of the transaction together with credit debt is $35.9 billion , Kommersant reported .

The purchase was the largest in the history of Mars, which was founded in 1911. The previous record was set in 2008, when the company acquired chewing gum maker Wrigley for $23 billion.
The talks were first announced earlier this month. Kellanova was created last year when the US food maker Kellogg Company split into three independent companies.
Kellanova spun off snack brands, quick breakfasts and more, including Pringles chips, Eggo frozen waffles, and Cheez-It crackers. Kellanova has $13 billion in annual sales, is present in 180 countries, and employs about 23,000 people.
