Mango has opened its first store dedicated to teenagers in the UK, off Carnaby Street in London as the Spanish fashion giant ramps up its wider expansion plans for the format.
The 2,475 sq ft Mango Teen space, located at 14-16 Foubert’s Place in Shaftesbury Capital’s Soho estate, houses a selection of clothing, footwear and accessories, with categories spanning casual wear to occasionwear.
The concept launched in 2021 to “satisfy the fashion needs between childhood and adulthood” and it opened its first standalone store in the Westfield La Maquinista shopping centre in Barcelona in 2022.
Last year, Mango Kids and Teen recorded sales growth of close to 20%, and represented 8% of the group’s sales.
Mango Kids and Teen director Berta Moral said: “The line fills an existing gap in the market and is leading the way with current, fresh and youthful designs, setting the pace for contemporary young fashion.”
“The opening of the first Mango Teen store internationally marks a turning point so that we can continue to inspire and bring our passion for fashion to young audiences.”
“The UK is one of the most important markets in the world of global fashion and therefore a key market for Mango and the development of all its lines to consolidate a global offer that responds to all segments, from women to men, children, and teenagers.”
Earlier this year, the retailer unveiled plans to open more than 20 new stores this year as it looks to bolster its presence in the UK.
It will grow its footprint in London and Scotland, as well as open in selected cities in Northern Ireland, central and southern England for the first times.
