Mango celebrates strongest ever first half as sales hit £1.3bn

Mango recorded its strongest-ever first half sales this year, pulling in £1.3bn (€1.54bn).

The Spanish fashion giant reported revenues were 6.3% higher in the first six months of 2024 compared to last year, despite the business facing climate, inflationary and geopolitical pressures.

Mango attributed its performance to the positive reception of its collections and value proposition, having launched various new capsule collections during the period, such as its collaboration with Victoria Beckham and Italian designer Boglioli for its mens line.

The retailer said womenswear achieved its highest revenue in the history of the company in a six-month period, as sales nudged up 4%. Sales for Mango Man surged 21% during the period, while Mango Kids and Teen jumped 11%.

Mango has opened 57 stores so far in 2024, reaching 2,743 worldwide, as it targets more than 2,800 stores by the end of the year.

The retailer revealed in May that it was planning to open more than 20 new stores in the UK this year, expanding its presence in London and Scotland, as well as in selected cities in Northern Ireland, central and southern England for the first time.

The update comes as the group, which closed a record 2023 financial year, pushes ahead with its 4E strategy to surpass sales of £3.36bn (€4bn) by 2026.

Mango CEO Toni Ruiz said: “In a very competitive environment, the company has achieved the best six months in its history, with growth above the market average.

“The excellent performance in revenue during the first half of the year reinforces our commitment to our value proposition, our business model and the international expansion plan with which we want to continue to inspire the world with our passion for fashion.”
