M.Video-Eldorado: Russians bought 5 million TVs in 6 months

Group "M. Video-Eldorado analyzed statistics on TV sales on the Russian market in the first half of 2024. According to preliminary data for 6 months, sales growth amounted to +58% in monetary terms and +32% in quantitative terms compared to the same period last year.

In total, Russians bought 5 million televisions for a total of 145 billion rubles. The top 5 brands in monetary and unit terms include devices from Haier, Samsung, Xiaomi, LG and Hisense.

It is noted that residents of the Russian Federation prefer models with a larger diagonal. In first place are devices with a diagonal larger than 65 inches, they occupy 24% of all sales on the market. In second place are gadgets with a diagonal from 56 to 64 inches (22%), and the third place is occupied by TVs with a diagonal from 45 to 55 inches (15.5%).

Russians are also actively interested in televisions from domestic manufacturers. The top 3 in quantitative terms include devices from Sber, Yandex and Vityaz.

“The growth in TV sales is due to several factors. Firstly, TV manufacturers are actively introducing AI and voice assistant functions into their models – this increases the ease of use of devices. Secondly, residents of the Russian Federation are actively switching to gadgets with large diagonals and increased clarity – up to 8K. Viewing content on them is much more convenient than on more compact devices,” commented Head of the Cinema and Sound Department of the M. Video-Eldorado Group Nikolay Semenov .
