M&S lowers prices across kidswear range

M&S has cut the price of its children’s clothes as it looks to gain ground in the kidswear market.

The high street giant has slashed its prices by up to 20% on more than 100 products from its ‘everyday essentials’ range.

Customers will now be able to purchase a £10 hoodie for very young children and £13 tracksuit bottoms for kids between six and 16.

M&S kidswear director Alexandra Dimitriu said: “Customers are looking for trusted value. When it comes to clothing, we know value is more than just the product’s price – they also want confidence that it is made well and made to last and offers versatility. We’ve focused on investing in the price and quality.”

M&S, which holds 7% of the kids clothing market, launched its first ever baby club last yeat, called ‘The Parent Hood’ – exclusive to members of its Sparks loyalty programme and offers discounts of up to £250 per year for young families.

Dimitriu said at the time: “Our customers trust us for the hand-me-down quality of our kids clothing and with our growing style credentials and a presence in so many communities, there is so much opportunity to grow our market share through appealing to new customers and introducing existing customers to more of what we have to offer.”
