Nova Poshta entered the French market and opened its 100th branch in Europe, the online retailer Rozetka added five more points and closed its largest store, Ukrposhta launched an automated logistics terminal in Odessa, the Loko delivery service from Silpo expanded its geography, as well as other news areas of e-commerce and delivery.
Ukrposhta opened an automated logistics terminal in Odessa
State operator Ukrposhta opened a logistics terminal with automated sorting lines in Odessa. It is capable of providing fast processing and delivery of shipments – up to 270,000 parcels per day – for the entire south of Ukraine, the operator said in a press release. Together with the restructuring of logistics routes, this will make it possible to deliver shipments to customers in the Odessa, Kherson and Nikolaev regions within 24 hours after sorting. The new terminal is equipped with equipment and software from a Ukrainian manufacturer, which processes three parcels per second.
The opening of the Odessa terminal is part of the development and modernization strategy of Ukrposhta, launched by the company in 2021. Currently, the company has installed 17 automated lines in seven cities of Ukraine: nine lines sort small items and eight – large parcels. Ukrposhta plans to complete automation of facilities in all seven terminals and 16 logistics centers in 2024.
Nova Poshta entered the French market and opened its 100th branch in Europe
France became the 14th European country where Nova Poshta entered the market. According to the operator, the branch in Nice operates at 27 Avenue Notre Dame, 06000. Here, customers will be able to receive and send documents, parcels and cargo up to 100 kg to and from Ukraine, within France and between European countries where Nova Poshta already has branches. Delivery time to Ukraine is from 5 days. The first French branch of Nova Poshta became the company's hundredth branch in Europe. There are plans to open in Paris and Lyon by the end of the year, and then in other major cities – Lille, Toulouse and Bordeaux.
Let us remind you that earlier in June Nova Poshta opened branches in the Czech cities of Pilsen and Pardubice. Nova Poshta branches are available to customers in the Czech Republic in five cities: Prague, Brno, Liberec, Pilsen and Pardubice.
Nova Poshta increased its network to 30,000 service points
Nova Poshta in Ukraine continues to expand. As RAU was informed by the company's press service, it currently consists of 12,100 branches and 18,000 parcel terminals. These are more than 30,000 service points where customers can take advantage of the company’s convenient and fast services. According to Nova Poshta CEO Alexander Bulba , the company constantly monitors customer requests for opening new branches and parcel terminals, analyzes trends in the movement of people and opens service points where they are needed. Since the beginning of the year, the company has installed 2,700 new parcel terminals and opened 770 branches. The most active growth of the network occurred in the Kyiv, Lviv, Chernivtsi, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. In addition, 344 new branches and parcel terminals were opened in the front-line territories in the Kharkov, Odessa, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Sumy, Kherson, and Dnepropetrovsk regions. By the end of the year, it is planned to increase the company’s network to 36,000 service points.
Bolt Food food delivery service is now in Chernivtsi and Rivne
The food delivery service Bolt Food was launched in two more Ukrainian cities – Chernivtsi and Rivne. You can place an order in the app from 10 am to 10 pm. Leveraging a powerful network of partners, Bolt Food offers fast food delivery from various restaurants on the platform. Chains beloved by all users, such as McDonald's, Trattoria da Ventotto and Sicily in Rivne, KFC, ShoSho and Matie in Chernivtsi and dozens of other food establishments are already available in the application. The food delivery market in Ukraine continues to grow. According to the forecast of the portal statista.com, in 2024 the income of the restaurant delivery market in Ukraine will be $8.26 million. And the share of the population using these services will be 3.9%. Loko delivery service from Silpo continues to expand its geography of work
Loko, a fast delivery service for groceries and ready-made food, has appeared in Odessa and Chernomorsk. These cities are the eighth and ninth where Loko delivers food, drinks and household goods, prepared meals from restaurants, flowers and hygiene products to customers. As RAU was informed by the company's press service, over the two years of Loko's operation, its coverage area included Kyiv, Chernigov, Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Brovary and Sofievskaya Borshchagovka. Loko's assortment includes about 3,000 items from Silpo. Also, 1,350 restaurant establishments across the country are already connected to the service.
Silpo delivers orders from Rivne to cities and towns of three regions
Thanks to the expansion of the Silpo delivery service, the coverage is now about 100 km and covers settlements of three regions – Rivne, Khmelnitsky and Zhytomyr. In particular, we are talking about: Shepetivka, Ostrog, Neteshyn, Izyaslav, Zvyagel, Polonna, Zdovbitsa, Shlyakh, Babin, Korets, Belaya Krinitsa, Pishchiv and other settlements within three regions around Rivne. You can order everything you need on the website shop.silpo.ua or in the mobile application, even if there is no Silpo supermarket in the city or village. A courier in a special vehicle (there are also freezers here) will deliver fresh fish and meat, dairy products, vegetables, fruits and other necessary goods. Let us remind you that the long-distance delivery service from Silpo has been operating since 2023 in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Volyn and Poltava regions.
What payment methods do Ukrainians choose when ordering online – analytics varus.ua
The Varus network analyzed which payment methods customers most often choose when making online orders on varus.ua. For any option for receiving an online order (delivery by courier, pickup from a supermarket or Varus Drive pick-up point), there are several payment options. This is payment for the order on the website, payment after assembly or payment to the courier. The most popular payment option for online orders with delivery service has become payment after assembly. It is chosen by more than 66.2% of varus.ua clients. Cash on delivery is in second place – 33.3%. When choosing self-pickup, the leader among payment options, on the contrary, was cash on delivery (85.2%) and only then – payment after assembly – 14.5%. Those who choose Varus Drive like the option of payment after assembly. It is usually used by 54.2% of buyers, and only 41.7% have cash on delivery. It is this category of customers who most often choose to pay immediately when placing an order on varus.ua – 4.2%. That is, the majority of varus.ua customers choose to pay for orders after assembly or upon receipt.
Rozetka added five more points and closed its largest offline store
Rozetka marketing specialist Elena Rasputnaya provided information on new Rozetka locations on her Facebook page. Just like in May, in June 2024, five more new points were added in five cities:

As of July 1, 484 Rozetka stores are already operating in 147 large and small cities of Ukraine. At the same time, the capital's Rozetka store with an area of 4000 sq. m, which is located near the Pochayna metro station, closed on June 30, 2024. As Rozetka co-founder Vladislav Chechetkin explained to Forbes Ukraine, this store was replaced by dozens of new smaller ones. The premises were leased, so the retailer is vacating it. Let us remind you that this store opened in 2017 and was the largest in the chain. The company has three more large stores that continue to operate – on Khreshchatyk in the premises of the Main Post Office, in Odessa on Semaforny Lane and in Kharkov on Klochkovskaya Street.

Meest China started shipping from Chinese marketplace Weidian
For almost 10 years of operation, the international postal and logistics company Meest China has established delivery from the largest domestic Chinese marketplaces Taobao, 1688, POIZON and Pinduoduo to Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, South Africa, Nigeria and more than two dozen countries around the world. In June 2024, Weidian was added to the list of online platforms available for orders. As RAU was informed by the company's press service, the popular Chinese marketplace Weidian offers a wide range of products at competitive prices. Like other domestic platforms, it is focused on domestic trading and is therefore only available in Chinese. Orders from Weidian are sent across China to the local Meest China warehouse, and from there the company delivers the packages to Ukraine.
