Lighting retailer Mirastyle fined €34,500 for prohibited agreement

Торговца светильниками Mirastyle оштрафовали на 34 500 евро за запрещенное соглашение

The Competition Council (CC) fined lighting retailer and wholesaler Mirastyle 34,490 euros for implementing prohibited agreements, Chairman of the Insurance Company Juris Gaikis said at a press conference on Thursday, reports LETA. The prohibited agreement implemented by Mirastyle was reflected in price fixing resale to certain retailers who purchase goods from the company. At the same time, Mirastyle was involved in the distribution of projects, including exchanging commercially sensitive information with certain retailers about projects that needed the purchase of lighting equipment. Gaikis explained that the Investigative Committee stated in two cases that the purpose of the agreement was to limit competition on the lighting market in Latvia, which Mirastyle carried out, given that it is the exclusive distributor of several lighting manufacturers in Latvia. Gaikis urged other enterprises to contact the Investigative Committee if violations of a similar nature are noticed. If the company has entered into a prohibited agreement, the Investigative Committee encourages reporting the violation under the tolerance program, receiving a complete exemption from punishment. In 2023, Mirastyle operated with a turnover of 3.194 million euros and a profit of 162,668 euros, according to information from Firmas.lv. The company was registered in 2008, its fixed capital is 2840 euros. The only owner of Mirastyle is Estonian citizen Evgeniy Podyatshev.
