Lidl to introduce EV charging payments to rewards app

Lidl is to become the first UK supermarket to integrate electric vehicle (EV) charging payments within its rewards app.

The move means that customers using the discounter’s EV charging points will shortly be able to pay for their use through the Lidl Plus app.

The supermarket said the transition from current provider Pod Point will start this summer and is due to be completed across more 370 charge points nationwide by the end of the year.

It added that customers will be notified via the Pod Point app when the switch over will begin and will be able to access full instructions via the charging terminals.
