Ice cream consumption habits are changing all over the world, and Latvia is no exception. Although for many, plombirs and eskimos are exclusively a summer treat, their consumption is growing in other seasons as well, notes Food Union, the largest ice cream producer in Latvia. Without Latvia, Food Union's main markets are Estonia, Lithuania, Denmark, Norway and Romania. In Latvia and Estonia, the concern is the largest ice cream producer. Čirjevskis expects that the company will also become the first in Lithuania in the coming months. Čirjevskis is proud that Food Union's Pols ice cream brand has become very popular in Lithuania. "I think that Lithuanians also consider Pols a local brand," he says. In the neighboring country, Food Union also offers Pols curd cheese, which is not available in Latvia.
Licorice – for Scandinavians, fruit glaze – for Lithuanians. And what kind of ice cream do they like in Latvia?
