The auctions of the Latvian company SIA "LDz Cargo", a subsidiary of the state joint-stock company "Latvijas dzelzceļš" (LDz), for two locomotives and 66 used freight cars, which are currently located in Ukraine, ended without results. The company "LDz Cargo" offered to buy at auction 66 used freight cars, located in Ukraine, with a starting price of 660,000 euros. "LDz Cargo" also put up for auction two diesel locomotives of the "TEP70" series, including the diesel locomotive "TEP 70-0234", with a starting price of 102,000 euros and the diesel locomotive "TEP70-0250" with a starting price of 112,000 euros. As representatives of LDz told the LETA agency, not a single applicant applied to participate in the auctions. Therefore, both auctions were declared invalid. Last year, the turnover of LDz Cargo amounted to 134.372 million euros, which is 9.5% less than in 2022, and the profit of the subsidiary LDz decreased by 39.9% – to 3.068 million euros. LDz Cargo is part of the LDz concern and carries out rail freight transport.
