Stolen grain of value of nearly billion dollars

Since the invasion of Ukraine of 24 February 2022 . Russia is accused of stealing grain from occupied areas of the country and selling it in the developing black market. In September 2024 the Wall Street Journal reported, that Russia sold the stolen grain for nearly a billion dollars.

Vitalii Koval, minister of agricultural policy and food Ukraine, who signed MOU at the Berlin conference of agricultural ministers, in government communication press requested the launch of the GVS system for the purpose of combating illegal export of Ukrainian grain from occupied territories the first step at ministerial level in implementing the strategic agreement between Ukraine and Great Britain, which will form the basis of cooperation for the following hundred years. Pilot implementation of this initiative will take place in Lithuania – at the port in Claipeda, which will become the key center for verification of origin of Ukrainian agricultural products.

GVS will identify stolen grain and stop transport

Koval said, that GVS will identify stolen grain and stop its illegal transport. It also includes an innovative data base from Great Britain, in which advanced technologies determining the location of crops will help protect the interests of Ukrainian farmers and transparency of the market.

This cooperation is an example of how Ukraine,
