
Lidl has opened a logistic center in Ablis, south west of Paris. Occupying 87 000 sq.m. the building is the largest of this type building in Europe.
Lidl is expanding in France
The new logistics center will initially operate about fifty stores Lidl in the Paris region. Construction took over seven years.
The Hub includes 5800 sq.m. of office space and fourteen loading and unloading docks. The facility should be capable of receiving 9 000 pallets per day, of which 10 000 will be shipped per week. Because Lidl plans to open more stores in France, the discounter has built a logistics center, which may grow with increased demand.
Sustainable warehouses
The distribution center is built according to the idea of sustainable development and enables recycling 92 proc. of all waste. also guarantees, that trucks never return empty, carrying only goods and waste. More than 12 000 sq. solar panels are in capacity to cover one quarter of the building’s energy needs. By March all fifteen”cellsproduct”inthecentershouldbeginoperating.
