a maximum of 340 employees.

“We are taking initiatives to adapt our units to the actual situation of the demanding market for food distribution and pressure on costs of operating activities” – informed the Carrefour chain.
From information dlahandlu.pl has emerged, that the releases will cover employees of shops in:
- Warsaw
- and Bydgoszcz
Carrefour has begun consultations with the unions, which are to end on February 18 2025 .
“In framework to adapt to the new market reality the company is taking various initiatives, including reconstruction of stores, reduction of
spaces of some of these, reviews profitability and plans for selected outlets” – added the network.

Decrease in revenue and reduction of employment
In Q3 2024 year Carrefour Poland reported decrease in revenue by 3% (578 million euros). After three quarters 2024 year the network revenue was 1.72 billion euro, which means a decrease by 3.2% in LfL.
On theEnd 2023 year Carrefour employed in Poland 9 935 people, which means reduction by 951 jobs in compared to 2022 year. Data for 2024 year not yet reported.
Declining number of shops
At end September 2024 year. under the brand Carrefour operated 801 stores, of which:
- 548 platforms convenience
- 96 hypermarkets
- 150 supermarkets
- 7 soft discounters
For comparison, in September 2023 year the network had 844 outlets, which means, that in year there were 43 stores, mainly in convenience format.
Group releases in Poland – the actual situation
there is no yet data PUP on reports of group releases in 2025 year. However according to the Province Labor Office in Warsaw,
in December 2024 year. two companies reported releases covering 532 persons.
Cumulatively from January 2024 year. 51 companies reported group dismissals, which covered
6 900 employees.
