Retail chains are preparing to raise prices on laptops by an average of 10% by September. “ The fact is that many manufacturers have kept prices at approximately the same level for quite a long time in order not to lose out in competition. As a result, the average price has remained virtually unchanged. Thus, in July 2024, it was about 62 thousand rubles, as in July 2023 ,” explained Marvel Distribution.
But there are other, more significant reasons for the rise in laptop prices. Firstly, Russian companies have not resolved their problems with settlements with Chinese sellers and manufacturers. Most bank transactions are delayed for several weeks due to sanctions, and the size of the transfer fee is also growing.
In addition, the general rise in prices for computer components around the world also has an effect – first of all, we are talking about SSDs. The seasonal factor also plays a role – before the start of the school year in Russia, gadgets used by schoolchildren traditionally become more expensive.
