Twice a year, the Unemployment Insurance Fund carries out a labor market survey known as the labor demand barometer, which is used to forecast staffing requirements for various occupations. The forecast shows that the protracted economic crisis has left its mark on the labor market. The labor demand barometer is compiled by experts from the Unemployment Insurance Fund together with local employers, regional development centers, vocational and higher education institutions, and job portals. The study divides occupations into five categories: very scarce, scarce, proportional to demand, plentiful, and surplus.
