Kaufland's marketplace is a significant force in Slovakia and the Czech Republic
Michael Sommer, Head of DACH Unity Group, believes that Kaufland's online marketplace has become a force to be reckoned with in e-commerce in recent months.

In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the Kaufland marketplace has already become one of the three largest online marketplaces – emphasizes the expert.
Will Kaufland mess up Polish e-commerce?

– Polish players from the retail sector must develop their own concepts and strategies to keep up with the online platforms of Amazon and Kaufland. For this to happen, effective market models, a good connection between traditional retail channels and online channels and mobile applications are essential. However, it is important to have a clearly defined strategy that creates synergy and binds customers with the company, argues Michael Sommer.
– Many retailers today face the challenges of increasing competition and declining revenues. Marketplace and dropshipping models offer a clear and relatively uncomplicated path to profitability. Thanks to them, you can, for example, quickly test new products, respond to customer needs, or reduce storage costs. This is what makes these types of platform business models so attractive – sums up the expert.
