John Lewis has launched a new partnership with Tapi Carpets, which will see the launch of dedicated concessions in 17 of its stores.
The rollout is set to begin next month at the retailer‘s Oxford Street flagship, with all concessions expected to be operational by summer 2025,.
The tie-up comes after the collapse of John Lewis’s previous flooring partner, The Floor Room, which entered administration last August following the financial struggles of its parent company, Carpetright.
Tapi later acquired key Carpetright assets, including its IP and 54 stores.
The partnership aims to enhance John Lewis’s flooring offering, combining Tapi’s expertise and focus on customer service to deliver a seamless shopping experience.
John Lewis director of services and hospitality Katie Papakonstantinou said: “We’ve been helping customers design and decorate their homes for 160 years and this partnership with Tapi will help make sure we continue to do so for generations to come.
“With their extensive product range, including John Lewis carpets, plus their commitment to customer service, there’s a natural fit between our brands, so we’re really excited to launch this collaboration.”
Tapi managing director Jeevan Karir added: “Our concession stores will offer a premium selection of Tapi branded carpets and smooth flooring, plus high-quality John Lewis carpets and the best of British flooring brands. By expanding the Tapi brand into John Lewis stores, customers can be confident they’ll receive unrivalled customer service at every step.”
