It happened: for the first time in Estonia, a Chinese electric car won a state procurement competition

Это случилось: впервые в Эстонии конкурс госпоставки выиграл китайский электромобиль

The arrival of Chinese electric vehicles on the European market has been talked about for a long time: some with excitement, some with anticipation, some with fear. And now one of the Chinese automakers has won the first state tender in Estonia. The GWM ORA3 model opened the door to our country, writes Forte. The strength of Chinese electric vehicles is undoubtedly that they offer the user at a low price much more modern functions, convenience and range than their competitors from the USA, Europe or Japan. Some of these cars also have features of luxury cars and some look quite nice. However, in general terms there are three problems. First, the political aspect: China does business very closely with Russia, an aggressor state, and are we not indirectly supporting the war through the purchase of products from such a state? In addition, GWM (Great Wall Motor), mentioned in this article, was included by Ukraine in the list of war sponsors, as it still has a plant and more than a hundred dealers in Russia. (Taiwan and the issue of free speech are, of course, additional factors.)
