On Tuesday, the director of the Estonian Institute of Economic Research, Peeter Raudsepp, presenting a fresh overview of the economic situation, said that the state of the Estonian economy is bad, but is gradually improving. New Economy Minister Erkki Keldo said the period of rapid price increases has passed and people's purchasing power is improving.
According to Raudsepp, despite the poor state of the economy, small signs of improvement are visible, and the time of rapid decline in economic indicators is definitely over. "This means the economy is bad but no longer getting worse," Raudsepp said.
Raudsepp cited the adaptation of Estonian enterprises and finding new markets for their goods and services as the reason for the improvement in the situation.
