An outbreak of bird flu in Iwate and Aichi
An outbreak of disease in the northern region Iwate is the nineteenth focus of bird flu in Japan this season.
Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture reported, that an increasing number of dead animals have been observed, and the cause of death appeared to be bird flu. The regional authorities Iwate have announced the killing of 50 000 chickens. Additionally it is no longer allowed to transport from 170 000 birds from two near farms.
In total about 3.8 million birds in a radius of tens kilometer around the affected farm must this time stay in this zone.
The bird influenza virus has also been detected at an other farm in Iwate and at farm in central Aichi region. This caused the start of slaughter
