According to the industry review INFOLine E-Grocery Russia TOP №2 2024, the service confirmed its leadership in the E-grocery market in terms of turnover, number of orders, as well as its share in the online sales of food products market (it amounted to 17.4% in the first half of the year, and 17.7% in the second quarter).
In the second quarter, Samokat continued opening in new cities. In the spring, the service became available to city residents in Anapa, Pskov, Petrozavodsk, as well as Kostroma, Nefteyugansk, Neftekamsk, Obninsk and Salavat. Also at the end of May, Samokat opened its 2,000th dark store. It appeared on Dunaysky Prospekt in St. Petersburg — the city where the service's history began.
In addition, the ESG direction was traditionally in focus – in May, together with the RusClimateFund, Samokat launched the eco-project "New Forest". The initiative is aimed at restoring and preserving the forest.
"In Q2 2024, we saw a significant increase in consumers' focus on efficiency, due to which the share of scheduled delivery decreased, and express exceeded 70% for the first time. Most E-Grocery operators faced a seasonal decline in sales in Q2, but the segment of super-express delivery up to 30 minutes from dark stores demonstrated positive dynamics," commented Mikhail Burmistrov, Managing Partner of INFOLine-Analytics .
