The Concrete Union Estonia and Estonian Union of Building Materials Competition
“Concrete Building 2024 year” participates 12 buildings.
“Our Competition is representing a variety of buildings, beginning with a powerful industrial complex, high-rise commercial and residential buildings and the main police security building to a yacht club, a singing field and a children’s garden,” said said the chairman of the department of the Union of Concrete Estonia Imre Leetma.
“Concrete is a resistant material which in the hands of experts is able to perform functional, and aesthetic functions,” he added.
The oldest Estonian construction competition, which is the twenty fifth time this year, demonstrates the viability and continuity of concrete construction.
The Concrete Building 2024 Year jury selected from the number of submitted proposals as the nominees of 12 buildings.
The candidates for the title of winner of the contest are
- Chemical Factory Enefit 280-2, Village Auvere, Vaivara, Ida-Viru County, Ida-Viru County.
- Hotel Hampton by Hilton, Tartu highway 49, Kesklinn,Tallinn.
- Sound Sculpture “ONKAI” on Honshu Island, Japan.
- Complex of Buildings of the Police Security Department, Luise 1, Kesklinn, Tallinn.
- III stage quarter Kalaranna, Kalaranna, 8, Põhja-Tallinn, Tallinn.
- Port Building of Kalev Yacht Club, Masti 16, Pirita, Tallinn.
- Keyla Singing field, Lauluväläku, 1, Keyla, Harjumaa.
- Children’s garden Männiku, Kraavi, 4, Nõmme, Tallinn.
- Concrete work at address Rataskaevu, 5 – Bombay Club, Rataskaevu 5, Kesklinn, Tallinn.
- Dacha “Suvila XXXI”, Suvila, 31, Pääsküla, Tallinn.
- Multi-family houses Tihase, Sõprususe 26 and 28, Kristiine, Tallinn.
- Commercial and residential buildings Vector, Pärnuske hosse 137, Kesklinn, Tallinn.
The Jury of the twenty fifth edition of the Competition includes representatives of the Union of Architects Estonia, Union of Concrete Estonia, Union of Construction Estonia, Union of Civil Engineers Estonia, Estonian Union of Construction Consultancy, Estonian Union of Building Materials Kunda and representatives of the press covering construction topics.
The contest jury begins in January.
The winner will be announced at Concrete Day on 20March.
