Expected production of individual oilseed plant species
In particular, the largest increase is expected in the case of soybeans – by 7.5%, from 4.743 million tons in the 2023/2024 season to 5.1 million tons. This increase will be driven by an increase in the cultivated area by 7.4%, to 1.97 million ha, while maintaining oilseed yields at the level of the previous season and will amount to 2.59 t/ha.
Sunflower production in the current season is expected to be 13 million tonnes, compared to 12.76 million tonnes in 2023/24 (+2%). The yield of these seeds will not change and will amount to 2.45 t/ha, and the area under cultivation will increase to 5.3 million ha (+2%).
As for rapeseed, Ukroliyaprom forecasts a harvest of 4.1 million tons, i.e. 2 percent. less than in the 2023/2024 season (4.184 million tons). The forecast drop in production will result from a 4.3% decrease in the area under oil crops to 1.37 million ha, while maintaining rapeseed yields at last year's level of 2.92 t/ha.
