This data was provided by the Russian analytical center SovEkon. It turns out that, as APK-Inform reports, citing Interfax, the forecast for the wheat harvest in the Russian Federation in 2024 has been reduced from the previously expected 84.7 million tons to 82.9 million tons.

Why the grain harvest correction in Russia?

– The correction is related to the final data on the area of crops this year published recently by Rosstat. These data are lower than SovEkon predicted. In addition, the assessment was influenced by lower indicators of expected productivity – we read in the report published on its website by Latifundist.

Details were also provided. It turns out that the worst situation is in the southern, central and Siberian federal districts of Russia. There, the harvest volume was reduced by 0.7 million tons. When, for example, in the Volga federal district, estimates were increased by 0.5 million tons.

The Latifundist website recalls that the Russians recently announced the loss of crops in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

– In particular, in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, compared to last year, pea and rapeseed harvests fell by 50 percent, barley by 33 percent, and wheat by 19 percent – we read.
