- The herd of young cattle at an age of 1-2 years unfinished has increased, in relative to after the previous year by 7.2 proc, a comparison with June 2024 year recorded a decrease of 0.9 proc. and reached a level of 1 626.6 thousand units.
- The cattle population in the century of 2 years and more fell in compared to the status of cattle in December 2023 year by 5.9 perc, a in ratio to June 2024 year increased by 3.5 proc. and reached a level of 2 715.2 thousand units.
- The cow population in comparison with December 2023 year and with June 2024 year. decreased respectively by 294.6 thousand pieces (by 12.3 percent) and by 234.4 thousand. pc (by 10.0 proc.) to level 2 101.2 thousand pc.
- The heifer population 2 years and more in comparison with December 2023 year. increased by 39.1 percent (by over 128 thousand pieces), and by 49.3 percent (about 151 thousand pieces) in comparison with June 2024 year. to level 456.5 tys. pc.
How many are milk cows in Poland?
According to data presented by GUS, the head of milk cows at the end of December 2024 year. was 1 960 278 pc and was by 5.24 percent lower than in December 2023 year. and o 10.48 proc. lower than in June 2024 year.
The growth share of cattle per age 1-2 year
In structure stock cattle total share by group age-use in December 2024 year. were:
- calfs of age under 1 year – 29.9 proc,
- young cattle breeding and rearing at age 1-2 years under – 26.3 proc.,
- cows – 33.9 proc,
- other cattle adult breeding and rearing at age of 2 years and more – 9.9 proc.
According to own work on based data.CSO, in comparison to the structure of head of cattle in December 2023 year, the share of cattle in age 1-2 years unfinished (by 0.4 p. percent.) and capita calf (o 0.1 p. proc.), while the share of other cattle farmed and reared at 2 years and more (by 0.1 p. proc.) and cows by (0.3 p. proc.) in the study period.
Decrease import of cattle
According to own work on based data of GUS data on foreign trade in the period from 1 June to 30 November 2024 year. imports of cattle amounted to about 127.8 thousand pieces and declined by 0.4 percent. in ratio to analog period of the year previous (in analog period of the year previous there were 128.3 tys. pc.). Export of cattle in the w. period shaped at level of 24.6 tys. pc (in analogous period of the previous year it was of 26.1 tys. pc).
Increase in purchase prices of livestock and milk
In December 2024 year. in cup the average price of livestock and beef was 11.8 £/kg and was higher by 19.9 percent than recorded in the analogous period 2023 year.
The average purchase price of milk in December 2024 year (259.1 £ per 100 l) was by 22.5 perc. higher than recorded in analogous month 2023 year.
Where in Poland are the most countries?
The largest share in the national head of cattle was in the following provinces:
- Wielkopolskie (19.2 percent),
- Mazovian (18.3 percent.),
- Podlaskie (16.5 proc.).
In two provinces: Dolnośląskie, Lubuskie, Podkarpackie and Western Pomerania the share of national cattle had not reached 2 proc.
These
same provinces characterize the largest, although the changes slightly in order. The most milk cows in Poland are
in the Mazovian province(414 318 pcs.), the second place is the Podlaskie province (394 015 pcs.), third to third
place Wielkopolskie (283 438 pcs).
