The CDEK.Shopping service for buying and delivering goods from abroad and the analytical resource Chek Index conducted a joint study. Experts found out which pet products are in the greatest demand in 2024 and how the cost of products and the total expenses of owners on their pets have changed during this time.

On the Russian market, the average price of pet products is 807 rubles. When ordering online, this figure is much higher – 3,056 rubles. Experts also noted that the average price of pet products has increased by 13% and 14%, respectively, compared to last year.
The average bill for imported goods in 2024 was 5,484 rubles. Compared to last year, it has grown by 10%. Due to the general rise in prices for animal care and nutrition products, this figure is constantly increasing – both in the domestic and foreign markets.
The CDEK.Shopping platform also found out that Russians most often buy food in pet stores. It is mainly purchased by dog owners (59.6% of receipts), almost twice as little by cat owners (30.1% of receipts). The least popular food for rodents is food for rodents — its sales account for only 1.1%. Also among the pet products that are in demand are litter, grooming equipment, toys and decorative attributes.
In July, the demand for feed was extremely high. Over the past six months, most orders were placed in this month and amounted to about 90% of the total number of receipts in the segment. Russians ordered the least amount of feed in February — the number of orders for that period amounted to only 0.5% of the total amount.
