Wielkopolskie: 45 events related to heavy rain; alarm levels exceeded on rivers
Forecasted hydrological situation for the period 14-16 September 2024 (communication of 14 September, 12:00)
The catchment area of the upper Vistula tributaries
In the forecast period, on the Vistula to the mouth of the San, the water level is expected to increase to the zone of high levels (to the mouth of the Dunajec) and medium and low levels (from the mouth of the Dunajec to the mouth of the San). At the hydrological stations Pustynia and Kraków-Bielany, exceedances of warning levels are forecast. In the following days, it is possible that conventional levels will be exceeded in the next profiles. On the remaining section of the Vistula from the mouth of the San to Dęblin, water level fluctuations are expected in the zone of low levels.
As a result of forecasted further rainfall, covering the majority of the sheltered area, further water level increases are expected on rivers in the Vistula catchment area to Dęblin and in the catchments of Czarna Orawa and Strwiązę. The greatest intensity of increases is forecasted on rivers located in the Silesian and Lesser Poland voivodeships (especially in their western part), where further exceedances of warning and alarm levels are forecast (mainly in the catchments of: Mała Wisła, Przemsza, Soła, Skawa, Raba, Skawinka and Rudawa). On rivers in other voivodeships, water level increases are expected, locally sudden, to the zone of medium and high levels. In places, exceedances of warning levels are possible, and locally alarm levels are possible.
On the Bug after Krzyczew, the water level is expected to stabilize in the low-level zone. On its tributaries, water level increases or fluctuations are forecast in the low and medium-level zone, and in places high.

Lower Silesia: over 200 fire brigade interventions in the Kłodzko district
The catchment area of the upper and middle Odra tributaries
Water levels on the upper Odra will tend to rise above conventional levels – in Chałupki above the alarm level, from Olza to Racibórz Miedonia above warning levels, and then during the day also alarm levels. The upward trend in water levels will continue until Sunday (September 15), when maximum levels are expected to be reached. Stabilization and gradual drops in water levels are expected from Monday, but still in the zone above alarm levels.
Water levels on the canalized middle Odra will also increase, initially slowly in the medium and high water zone, from Saturday evening above warning levels, and in the following days above alarm levels. Periodically, greater dynamics will occur on the Odra below the mouth of Mała Panew, and especially below the mouth of Nysa Kłodzka, in connection with increased water discharge from the Turawa, Nysa and Otmuchów retention reservoirs.
On the freely flowing middle Odra, water levels will gradually rise in the medium water zone, and then in the high water zone. Warning levels are expected to be exceeded on September 15 in Ścinawa, and on the remaining section in the following days.
In the catchments of the upper and middle Odra tributaries, the forecast rainfall will maintain the already ongoing upward trend of levels with numerous exceedances of warning levels, and ultimately even alarm levels to a significant extent, especially in the catchments of the Sudetes and the Sudetes Foreland rivers, as well as the upper Odra tributaries and the Silesian Upland. A particularly dynamic increase in water levels is forecasted for Saturday and Sunday. Maximum water levels are expected locally already on the night from Saturday to Sunday, and later on Sunday and locally on Monday. In the catchments of the right-hand tributaries of the middle Odra, water levels will initially increase in the low and medium water zone, and ultimately to the high water zone with exceedances of conventional levels. Exceedances of alarm levels are forecasted especially in the Barycz catchment. Maximum water levels are expected in smaller catchments from Sunday/Monday, and on larger rivers throughout the following week.
