Trade and business help fight flooding and cope with its effects
Our goal is not only to provide functional furniture and home equipment, but also to educate on what affects the quality of home life. And good sleep is undoubtedly one of the most important elements that affect our health and well-being. We want to draw attention to what factors are key to getting a good night's sleep and how simple solutions, step by step, can improve the quality of sleep and thus affect our daily functioning – says Katarzyna Broniarek-Niemczycka, Communication Director at IKEA Retail in Poland.
Six Key Factors to a Good Night's Sleep
IKEA emphasizes and indicates six key factors that have real significance in striving for full-value rest. The first is the temperature, which in the bedroom should be around 16-19°C, because both when it is too hot and too cold, it can make it difficult to fall asleep and affect the quality of sleep. Clean air is also crucial – a fresh and well-ventilated interior allows the body to rest effectively.
Another important factor is proper lighting. As shown by research conducted as part of the IKEA Life at Home Report in 2023, as many as 25% of Poles need complete darkness to fall asleep, which makes darkening the bedroom an important element of sleep hygiene. Sound – a quiet space additionally promotes regeneration, so it is worth avoiding noise and ensuring the silence of the room. Sleep comfort also depends on the right conditions – for 34% of Poles, a favorite pillow is a key element, and a well-chosen mattress and bedding are the foundations of healthy rest. The list could not be complete without an orderly environment, it also plays an important role, because a clean and well-organized space has a positive effect on well-being and facilitates rest.
According to research, for 45% of Poles, the most important aspect of an ideal home is the ability to relax and unwind, and a good night's sleep is an essential condition for this process. IKEA encourages you to familiarize yourself with the 6 factors of good sleep and introduce changes to your daily sleep rituals. Sometimes small changes lead to great effects.
Secrets of a good night's sleep
A good night's sleep means more energy and a better start to the day. It is worth taking care of its quality and enjoying every morning. The latest IKEA campaign, which started under the slogan: "Wake up! Time for a good night's sleep" focuses on this element of life, while emphasizing the importance of rest and regeneration of the body. As part of building social awareness in this area, the brand has prepared a unique IKEA Sensory Path in the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, which allows you to discover how temperature, light, sounds, clean air, comfort and an orderly environment can affect the quality of sleep . Each of these elements has been carefully designed by IKEA designers to affect the senses and inspire visitors to create their own solutions for a good night's sleep.
The IKEA sensory path is open to visitors from September 16 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on September 17-18 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The organizers have taken care of the full accessibility of the event, including facilities for people with disabilities, as well as preparing educational materials and a soundtrack, also in English. Entrance to the Palace of Culture and Science from Marszałkowska Street, main hall, Korczak Hall.
