At the recent 20th International Botanical Congress in Madrid, a proposal by two scientists was adopted to change the scientific names of several hundred plants in order to eliminate the use of racist terms in botany. While some scientists welcome this decision, others are concerned about the chaos that this and other similar decisions could cause in scientific literature in the future, writes Delfi Dom&Sad.
