Availability of rapeseed seed
August 19, when we checked availability at distributors, is definitely late for buying winter rapeseed seed. Nevertheless, there are supporters of late sowing, which is actually gaining popularity, and there are also situations such as the need to sow a piece due to an excessive sowing rate, the desire to sow rapeseed on a new plot that has only just expanded the farm area, or the need to reseed a plantation, for example due to heavy rain.

Heavy rains have crusted the soil, possible overseeding of rapeseed
Despite the late date, the selection of rapeseed varieties is surprisingly large. Of course, if we are talking about the average value, because the situation in individual companies supplying agriculture is very diverse. Some have literally 2-3 varieties in limited quantities, while others present a wide offer, of course also with the indication that this or that variety is already running out, and another is a leftover from last year. On average, the distributors we contacted currently have 9 varieties in their offer. It is not surprising that most of them are hybrid varieties, although in Poland the popularity of traditional population varieties is relatively high anyway.
