Manure is difficult to access
Manure is not easy to value. Its value, of course, consists of nutrients, but the organic matter that we can leave in the soil with manure is also invaluable. Thanks to this, we increase the share of humus and improve the quality of biological life in the soil.
Both manure and straw are not easily available goods, because there is much less farming than a dozen or even a few years ago. A popular way to purchase manure is to exchange it for straw. We check the prices of both manure and straw. What expense do you need to prepare for?

How much manure and how much straw?
Prices per tonne of chicken manure are usually PLN 60-80/t. In the case of cattle manure, we will usually pay similar amounts, although the most common range is slightly lower, around PLN 50 – 60/t. However, if the manure is already well fermented, with less straw, prices are sometimes higher. However, there are also lower valuations, around PLN 30 – 40/t, but there are not many of them.
Horse manure is valued at approximately PLN 70 – 80/t. In turn, manure from pigs usually costs PLN 50-60/t. In general, however, the most common products you can buy are cattle manure or chicken manure.
Some bidders offer manure to be transported or even spread on the field. It also happens that the price includes both the goods and the service.
Replacing manure with straw is also popular. When it comes to straw valuations, a 150 cm bale costs up to PLN 130 – 150, but this price already includes loading and transport to the buyer's address. 125 cm beams are valued in the range of PLN 50 – 60. You have to pay PLN 1,100-1,500 for a hectare of "good" straw for baling. If baling is the responsibility of the buyer, a 120 cm bale is valued at PLN 20 – 25, although there are also situations where straw sellers charge even PLN 40 – 50 for a bale.

When selling and purchasing manure, you must remember about the contract
Transactions involving the sale/purchase of manure are covered by the provisions (of the Action Program aimed at reducing water pollution with nitrates from agricultural sources and preventing further pollution). For manure fertilization, a nitrogen fertilization plan should be prepared. Therefore, you must have an appropriate contract – remember to prepare such a contract when finalizing the transaction. The contract should be kept for a period of 3 years. it should contain primarily the amount of nitrogen in the purchased manure, but tests for the N content are not required. If we do not have such tests, the average assumed N content in the natural fertilizer should be entered in the contract.
