General Director of the Chernogolovka Group of Companies Natalia Sakhnina said that the company will stop producing baby food under the Heinz brand in September. It will be replaced by a new brand – Gipopo. It is designed to ensure continuity for the consumer – in formulations, product quality and packaging design. The first batch will hit the retail chain in August.
In March of this year, Chernogolovka bought the baby food business in Russia from the Heinz company. The agreement provided for a transition phase: Chernogolovka could continue producing Heinz products for 6 months after the deal (until September).
Gipopo will be produced primarily at two baby food factories that previously produced Heinz products for many years. The Georgievsky Baby Food Plant will, as before, produce dry porridge. “Ivanovo Baby Food Plant” – liquid cereals, all types of purees and ready-made meals. A confectionery factory in Barnaul and a plant in Pskov, which specializes in the production of Lyubyatovo ready-made breakfasts, are involved in the production of the snack line.
