Stores are keeping a close eye on consumer behavior, and changes like these aren't something to be excited about, Rohtla said.
“Due to skyrocketing prices, consumers have less and less money every day with which to fill their grocery baskets at the store. Changes have been taking place for more than two years; they began even before the war,” he noted.
No one seems to believe that things will change for the better anytime soon, Rochtl said, so the trend will continue. He does not expect major changes in the assortment, since the competition is very tough and everyone wants to offer the consumer the widest possible range.
