According to information obtained by Portal Spożywczy, the Argentine side… has still not recognized the request of the Polish prosecutor's office regarding the extradition of Henryk Kania.
– I would like to kindly inform you that the request of the Polish side for the extradition of Henryk K. from Argentina has not been considered so far. The proceedings for the extradition of the above-mentioned person have been suspended by the Argentine side until the Argentine Supreme Court considers the appeal filed by the defense attorney of the prosecuted person. Currently, the Argentine authorities are applying a preventive measure against Henryk K. in the form of electronic monitoring – says Anna Adamiak, Spokesperson of the Prosecutor General, in an interview with Portal Spożywczy.
As Anna Adamiak adds, the case is being monitored on an ongoing basis by the Polish prosecutor's office, and in Argentina the Polish consul in Buenos Aires is actively dealing with the case.
– Correspondence was also sent to the Argentine Embassy in Poland with a request to take action to accelerate the consideration of the extradition request, and two meetings were organized with representatives of the Argentine Embassy in Poland and the management of the National Prosecutor's Office – she indicated.
