The eight-axle set carrying animal feed in two containers weighed 63.4 tons, instead of the permissible 40. However, this was not the only reservation of the inspectors of the Warmia-Masuria Road Transport Inspection. Transport was suspended and administrative proceedings were initiated against the carrier.
Too heavy and without a remote control
The vehicle was stopped at the Olsztynek MOP on the national road No. S7, in the Olsztyn poviat. A patrol from WITD from the Iława branch sent the leftovers for weighing. The set of vehicles with the load weighed over 63 tons instead of the permissible 40 tons. Moreover, as a non-standard transport, the set, in accordance with the regulations, had to be piloted along the entire route, and there was no pilot vehicle.
The driver did not have the required category V permit for such transport. He wouldn't have obtained it anyway, because the containers could be transported separately. An analysis of the driver's working time over the last 28 days showed a long list of working time violations.
Forced stop
As a result of the inspection, the driver was banned from driving any further. "He could only leave the inspection site after the vehicle was brought into compliance. He was also fined. Administrative proceedings will be initiated against the carrier and the company's transport manager, which may result in high financial penalties." – says the Olsztyn WITD in a statement.
