Another farmer interested in buying a used tractor has been scammed online. This time, the victim is a resident of the Łomża commune in the Podlaskie province.
According to the District Police Headquarters in Łomża, the man wanted to buy a tractor and found an interesting ad on an internet portal. He was tempted by the attractive price and after negotiations with the seller, he paid a deposit of PLN 2,000, which was to be a fee for reserving the machine. However, after making a transfer to the indicated account, contact with the seller broke off.
After several days of trying, the 39-year-old realized that he had fallen victim to fraud and reported it to the police. "Low prices of goods offered, fictitious customer reviews, or a demand for advance payment – online fraudsters use various methods to extort money from us. Internet users are increasingly becoming victims of fraudsters operating on the web," warn Łomża police.
