Pedro Martinho wants to be a Polish citizen
– A great day with great significance for me. After collecting all the necessary documents (and there were quite a few of them!), today I submitted an application to the President of the Republic of Poland for granting me Polish citizenship. I have been living and working in Poland for 28 years, paying, like many people, a significant part of my earnings in taxes (…). I can proudly say that I had an influence on shaping the Polish retail market, supported the development of many family businesses and contributed to the professional development of many people. Thanks to this, they are today high-ranking managers who have improved not only as leaders, but also as professionals. My future is connected with Poland, as an investor, mentor and advisor. I want to have the opportunity to vote in elections and elect my representatives, as well as participate in shaping public policy. Considering my application may take longer due to the complicated situation in the East, which creates an additional burden for the Office for Foreigners. Let us remind you: Pedro Martinho resigned as a member of the Eurocash management board on December 31, 2023. He cited personal reasons as the reasons for his resignation. The management board of Eurocash made him an offer to remain employed as an advisor to the management board for e-commerce, and Pedro Martinho accepted this offer. He is also developing his own consulting activity in the digital area.
