– Thanks to the efficient organization of employees, we managed to negotiate better conditions for dismissed employees. These conditions were accepted by the majority of employees. The professional group of sales representatives who are taken over by Eurocash is still in suspension. The terms offered to them raise doubts among traders. This will be another challenge for the Works Committee of NSZZ "S", because there are also members of this group – informs Solidarity via the Tysol portal.
In January 2017, the listed company Eurocash SA based in Komorniki became the owner of PDA.
Solidarność reports that PDA was profitable every year, but in April 2024 Eurocash announced the closure of the company and the dismissal of most of its employees. Initially, the proposed terms of termination of the contract were so severe for the employees that within a few days the company established the Temporary Works Committee of NSZZ "Solidarność".
Average employment at PDA in 2022 was 230 people. The company generated profit in 2022 of PLN 7,076,022.
In May this year We informed that Eurocash has implemented a deep savings plan that is intended to offset the impact of the increase in the minimum wage on the company's results. The group will reduce employment by over 1,100 people, close 5 wholesalers and 165 stores.
