Outbreak No. 2024/26 occurred in the town of Budziszewice in the Skoki commune (Wągrowiec district). In turn, outbreak no. 2024/27 occurred in the Boguniewo commune in the Rogoźno commune. In both communes, one and two outbreaks of pig ASF were previously confirmed, respectively.
Although the latest outbreaks will probably not change the shape of the red zone, they will result in further blockade of herds in the protected and threatened areas.

Of the 27 ASF outbreaks confirmed this year in our country, as many as 15 occurred in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. They were concentrated mainly in the center of the region: in the Poznań, Obornicki, Wągrowiec and Gniezno counties. The disease also appeared in Piła and Czarnków-Trzcianecki counties. The disease tended to occur in small herds of pigs – nine outbreaks occurred in farms keeping fewer than 200 pigs. On the other hand, the largest outbreak this year occurred in Greater Poland – over 2,700 animals had to be killed in the Obornica district.

Apart from Greater Poland, the disease also appeared this year in the Lublin, Masovian, Pomeranian, Warmian-Masurian and West Pomeranian Voivodeships.
