The aid was intended for farmers who sold wheat, rye, barley, triticale or cereal mixtures between 1 January and 31 May 2024 to entities conducting business in the field of cereal trading, purchasing or processing of cereals or to entities purchasing cereals in connection with their animal production. In addition, those applying for this support should have submitted an application for direct payments in 2023, and the farm they run must meet the criterion of a micro, small or medium-sized enterprise. The total area of crops for which aid may be granted cannot exceed 300 ha. When an agricultural production cooperative or a farmers' cooperative applies for support, the limit is set at its application, as the product of 300 and the number of members of the given cooperative.

It is easy to become a speculator. Why did the farmer not receive a grain subsidy?
The amount of the subsidy depends on the time period in which the grain was sold and its type. For farmers who sold grain between January 1 and March 10, 2024, the rates are:
- PLN 1,080/ha of wheat;
- PLN 740/ha of rye, barley, triticale or cereal mixtures.
However, if the farmer sold his grain between 11 March and 31 May 2024, the rates are:
- PLN 1,620/ha of wheat;
- PLN 1,110/ha of rye, barley, triticale or cereal mixtures.
The amount of aid that a farmer can receive is calculated based on two algorithms:
- the area of cereal crops (wheat, rye, barley, triticale or cereal mixtures) resulting from the application for direct payments submitted in 2023 is multiplied by the aid rate;
- the number of tonnes of cereals sold, resulting from invoices or copies of invoices or their duplicates confirming such a transaction in a given period is divided by 5.4 for wheat or 3.7 for other cereals covered by support – the result of this operation is multiplied by the aid rate.
In both cases, the result must be multiplied by the correction factor and the lower of the amounts calculated on the basis of the two methods is the one the farmer will receive.
